FRIDAY 10th FEBRUARY, 7.30pm
VIALKA + SUNFLARE + CIAN NUGENT & CHRIS HLADOWSKI
Vialka (ACOUSTIC SET)
Vialka hail from deepest France, via everywhere and nowhere. They are a devilishly high-spirited guitar/drums duo who tour hard and fast across the world. Their music skips joyfully across borders, channeling desert blues, Chinese folk songs, scatter rock and European gypsy song dynamics in a whirlwind of dervish energy. Their endless gypsy punk folk rock tales, hard hitting poly-rhythms and yelps and howls make for a danceable and intoxicating brew. For this tour they have put together a special acoustic set especially for their favourite venue alternatives such as 113.
Sunflare
Sunflare are three young lads from Lisbon. There 12" EP is full of super-octane psychedelic fuzz that Julian Cope affirms (in a gushing review) is teeming with "barbaric displays that resound with a similar sonic yawp as Asahito Nanjo and Kawabata Makoto's legendary HIGH RISE 2."
They play live in a way only young lads can; their mammoth blissed out guitar assaults sustain an intoxicating wall of mastery, while the bass and drum battery holds the whirling fort in check.

Cian Nugent and Chris Hladowski
Cian and Chris are luckily both in London on the same night and will be playing an improvised set of acoustic guitar and Afghan Rubab. They play together only sporadically and both having an approach to their playing that encompasses a wide range of influence this should meld into a heady brew.
Chris plays in Family Elan (www.thefamilyelan.com) and Cian can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBknvK1G2wQ
FRIDAY 17TH FEBRUARY 19:30
MUCKY SAILOR + CHICAGO BOYS: While We Were Sleeping They Were Dreaming
Mucky Sailor
Having taken some time out to further improve themselves as individuals these two likely men reunite to bring Mucky Sailor wailing back to filthy glory. This Drum and this Piano have long rocked and demented various venues in Leeds and other notable areas of the U.K including 113's shores and now they return with Captain Wheel Shaped Synthesizer in tow to breakdown another pre-expectation of Black Metal. But sea-rously, Mucky Sailor's Chug Dance Rock idea of pop and metal is an excellent time and well spent too...

The Chicago Boys: while we were singing, they were dreaming...
A 1970's revival band and study group these ‘boys’ are assembled by the artist Hiwa K. With a rotating line up depending on where and when, The Chicago Boys play unconnected and rare 70's pop music from Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Lebanon. The band takes its name from the original Chicago Boys (instigators of Neo-Liberal policies in the Middle East) and, as has long been the set up, their performance will be interspersed with stories and videos from band members of contemporary and personal "affairs" relating popular music and history.
